The Coal Vaults

The Coal Vaults at Tin Music & Arts have a step-free entrance. There is a ramp with a handrail on one side leading up to the bar. The rest of the venue is level.

The venue has two main rooms. The first contains the bar, and the second contains the stage. Both are somewhat darkly lit during Revolt. There will be flashing lights in the second room but not the first.

If you would like to reserve a seat in the stage room, please contact us.

We will strive to ensure that strobe lighting is not used during the event.

The event will be relatively quiet for the first hour (7pm-8pm) but you can expect to hear loud, amplified music for most of the night. This is likely to be somewhat quieter in the first room.

There is a single-cubicle, gender-neutral accessible toilet and two blocks of gendered toilets in the venue.

We usually make one of the toilet blocks “gender neutral” for the duration of Revolt.

Travelling to the venue

It is possible to arrive at the Coal Vaults by foot/wheel from the city centre by heading up Bishop Street, and then using the bridge at the end of the street to cross the ringroad. There is a ramp on the bridge.

There is a short flight of steps at the main entrance to the Canal Basin, but if you continue up the hill on Leicester Road for about 15 metres there is a level entrance to area.

…by car

If you drive, there is a large car park on your right as you turn into Leicester Row from Foleshill Road.

It can be possible to arrange for parking in a private area adjacent to the venue. If you are a Blue Badge holder and/or have relevant accessibility needs, please contact the organisers and we’ll do our best to sort this out.

…by taxi

Taxis can drop off on the level by driving to the service area of the Canal Basin. Ask the driver to take the first right hand turn on Drapers Fields after the Canal Basin car park and follow the service road to the venue end.

…by bus

The venue is closest to the number 13/13a bus route which stops on St Nicholas Street.

Personal assistants/carers

If you have a personal assistant or carer who will be accompanying you to Revolt, we will provide you with a free ticket for them.

Please either contact us in advance so we can note down the name of your PA/carer on the guest list, or let us know that you require a free additional ticket when you pay on the door (whatever you’d prefer).
